Well, football season is upon us, and in addition the normal dangers (such as body-painting yourself “to support the team”) there’s the
obnoxious snack problem to deal with. You know the snacks, the junk food, the garbage that packs on the pounds and leaves you with a food hangover the next day. So in search for an alternative we picked up a bag of Snyder’s of Hanover Honey Wheat Sticks.
These are Organic with the USDA Label and Certified by Pennsylvania Certified Organic. The nutrition listed on their website isn’t too bad (by the way cross referencing with the bag the serving size is equivalent to 15 sticks).
So here’s what we found…Cost. Not bad. We picked up a half pound bag for $2.50. Taste. Nice crunch, lightly salted (just right on the salt in our opinion, not too much like some pretzels). Also, the honey aspect was very subtle but just enough to notch up the already excellent flavor. We were initially afraid that they would be over the top sweet, like a kid’s candy. Well they aren’t.
Our only suggestion is that you get some other things going on and make up a mix. You know, get a bowl, fill it with the Snyder’s Honey Wheat Sticks, some nuts, maybe a little Kashi, a little of this and a little of that. Get creative. That way you’re really getting a lot of different nutritional & flavor aspects going on at the same time.
So start searching for, and substituting, better quality snacks into your life. The favor will actually be better and you’ll eliminate all the unnecessary consumption of chemicals, artificial colors and preservatives. Find a better way, enjoy the game and live naturally.
