The environmental costs of mining gold are tremendous. From a 2005 New York Times Article miners must dig up over 30 tons of raw ore to obtain a single ounce of pure gold. Then, after excavation they typically use cyanide based compounds to extract the elemental gold. Needless to say the environmental impact and energy costs are tremendous.
Went to shopping today during lunch and saw a lot of great kitchen deals…today at Macy’s in New Hampshire I bought a 16 Quart Enamel Stock Pot for $19 (Regular Price is $60) and a Cast Iron Casserole Dutch Oven for $7 (Regular Price is $20)…. Also in tonight’s paper.. Kohl’s is selling a KitchenAid Heavy Duty Stand Mixer for $229.99 (Regular Price $369.99). This is just to give the OTK Readers a heads up.
