That’s what a architect from NYC said was her impressions of the place. She was on assignment on a new building going up and was despaired over the total lack of culture there.
On one level it’s impressive, big and outrageous. There’s the Venetian and also the drive-through wedding chapel. Huh. As previously mentioned I was there regarding some technical presentations for engineered equipment. This is the type of equipment doing some serious good in the world such as making drinking water safe, helping diabetes patients save their limbs and preparing dialysis fluid to help those with kidney disease (http://www.grayledge.com/Barnant_Peristaltic_Pump_Page.html to be specific.
But I am totally dead right now and have to get up at 4:00 tomorrow for some additional travel. Suppose to meet Diane and have some real good food that’s actually real but it might not happen. She has to chaperon a school dance in town.
But the big thing about this trip was how did I survive being locked into seminars all day and business dinners at night? Pretty good and not very good at the same time (you should have seen the looks I got when I passed on the creme brulee and ate the strawberry on top instead (after first wiping the whipped cream off of course).
Anyway learned a lot about survival skills in the wild world of chemicalized foods. More later after I get some rest and become human again.
