I have been traveling with a manager from a large corporation this week.. and one of the things that come with that is restaurants (although I got through the week pretty well by just skipping meals, pre-eating before the business day would begin and even bringing my own food items to snack on (and as expected got strange looks and “no thanks” when offering to share). Anyway, last night I broke down when she said she wanted to buy me dinner at this fancy-schmantzy seafood restaurant in Boston (figured I should be able to find something [...click to contimue reading...]

On the road again to Charlotte. And there are some great people here but I have a suspicion they may try to feed me .. “treat me”.. to conventional food. Already asked twice for a lift to the market but was told not to worry since they would be taking care of everything (that’s exactly what I’m worried about). .. Will press the market again from some other angle and see what happens.  It’s fairly easy to live healthy when in your own home. The trick is having the wherewithal and fortitude to make this [...click to contimue reading...]

The day trip with a business associate last week actually turned out pretty well. As you may or may not recall, I was travelling in Connecticut with this guy from New York who was a big conventional eater.  Unlike Vegas, this trip focused on veggies and protein. Made some mixed veggies, tossed them in a little extra virgin olive oil & sliced in some raw garlic for a bit of kick. Then had some fish cooked with a drizzle of olive oil. These were cooled and placed in containers. So on the way down I wolfed and I [...click to contimue reading...]

Have to drive down to Connecticut tomorrow and travel with this guy from New York who’s a big eater of all that I hold as evil. So two problems, one I like to eat light and frequent meals .. the New York guy, he can live off of body stores of fat and then undergo a massive refueling at lunch. Second problem is that the place for lunch will most likely have an all junk menu. So the plan is to load up on high quality protein and oil on the way up (fish with [...click to contimue reading...]

Today I went to a major medical supplier to help them work out some problems with their process. They are a good company providing cutting edge supplies for vital surgical procedures. .. Anyway, after we got the problem fixed we all went to lunch at their favorite restaurant “A nice Italian Place”. Now when I heard that, I thought I was sunk. Wheat and dairy causes me major problems and the pasta, the cheeses, the breadings..this wasn’t going to be pretty.  So we made it down there and the lady who owns the place, a real sweetheart, [...click to contimue reading...]

That’s what a architect from NYC said was her impressions of the place. She was on assignment on a new building going up and was despaired over the total lack of culture there.   On one level it’s impressive, big and outrageous. There’s the Venetian and also the drive-through wedding chapel. Huh. As previously mentioned I was there regarding some technical presentations for engineered equipment. This is the type of equipment doing some serious good in the world such as making drinking water safe, helping diabetes patients save their limbs and preparing dialysis fluid to help those [...click to contimue reading...]

Well, in a moment of insanity I agreed to go to Vegas to give a few talks. This will be a major challenge to organic living. .. How do you keep organic when the conventionals control the food supply? So far I’ve come up with stashing healthy snacks in the laptop bag and bringing a can of soy protein in my suitcase for late night chemical-free protein fixes. Anyway, been preparing, that’s why the past few days have been post-free. Sorry about that. Won’t be back until next Saturday so have a great week my friends and wish [...click to contimue reading...]
